It gives me immense pleasure and honor to extend a warm and cordial invitation to all of you to SSBCON 2026, the Annual Conference of the Surgical Society of Bangalore (SSB), being held on 21st and 22nd November 2026 at the historic Hotel Capitol, Rajbhavan Road, Bengaluru. Our conference theme for this year, "Skill, Scalpel & Beyond" with the tagline "Bridging Operative Mastery and Future Breakthroughs," reflects our commitment to evolving surgical care. While our foundation remains rooted in fundamental operative precision and sound surgical ethics, we are rapidly moving into an era transformed by minimal access advancements, robotic precision, digital health, and artificial intelligence. SSBCON 2026 has been curated to bridge this gap — offering a dynamic blend of high-definition master video sessions, thought-provoking debates, guest lectures by surgical stalwarts, and prestigious awards celebrating innovation and lifelong academic contribution. Preserving Heritage, Inspiring Innovation
For over five decades, the Surgical Society of Bangalore has championed clinical education through our memorial lectures. SSBCON 2026 integrates these flagship lectures into a 2-day conference experience.
SSB Golden Jubilee Rural Surgeons Fellowship Award
Purpose
To encourage rural practicing surgeons to upgrade their skills in Surgery.
Scope
Provides an opportunity for young surgeons interested in rural surgical service (preferably at the Taluk level) to undergo specialized fellowship training, carrying an honorarium and an official certificate presented by the President during the main event of the year.
Eligibility
- Candidates holding MS / DNB in General Surgery within 5 years of completion, with a special interest in rural surgical service.
- The candidate must be an active member of SSB.
- Maximum of two surgeons selected per year.
Proposal Submission Guidelines
- Submission: Submit the application along with a brief Bio-Data to the Honorary Secretary, routed through a competent forwarding authority.
- Selection: The fellow name is decided by the Executive Committee members of the corresponding year, whose decision is final.
- Reporting: The awardee must submit a Fellowship Utilization Report to SSBASICC within 1 month of completing the training.
Submit Your Oral Papers & Scientific Posters
Trainees, postgraduates, and practicing surgeons are invited to present original clinical research, surgical case series, and innovative procedures at SSBCON 2026.

Millennium Gold Medal Award 2026
Paper Presentation ContestOpen to young practicing surgeons for competitive scientific paper presentations at SSBCON 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to young practicing surgeons holding MS / DNB in General Surgery with minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, or 2 years post-M.Ch. qualification.
- Age limit: Under 50 years of age.
- Must be an active member of both ASI & Surgical Society of Bangalore ASICC.
- Must be actively practicing in Bengaluru.
Application & Submission Requirements
- Submit Paper Title + Full Paper (maximum 1500 words).
- Attach Brief Bio-data + Passport size Photograph.
- Provide valid ASI Membership Number.
