Our mission
The Surgical Society of Bangalore A S I C C ( Regd) was established as Surgical Society of Bangalore in the year 1973 in order to have an academic forum for surgeons of Bangalore in all specialties to share their experience of interesting cases and series of patients seen in the few hospitals present those days. In 1973 the strength of the society was 20-25 members with Dr.T.S.Jairam as President and Dr. L.S.Boregowda as Hon. Secretary. It has grown from strength to strength over the years to the present size of members 1135 of whom 935 are Life Members. Now it has become an institution by itself and is the largest surgical forum in the state of Karnataka. Basically it aims to disseminate surgical knowledge, promote unity and comradery amongst the members as well as guard the interest of the surgical fraternity at large.
President’s Message
Esteemed Colleagues and Members of SSBASICC,
It is with great respect that I extend my heartiest congratulations to the incumbent office bearers of SSBASICC-2025, led by Prof. Dr. Prem Kumar A. I also wish to acknowledge the senior members whose guidance was instrumental during this significant 51st year of our society.
I specifically commend the diligence and administrative acumen demonstrated by Hon. Secretary Dr. Sreekar Pai A, Joint Secretary Dr. Kapil Kishore S V, and Hon. Treasurer Dr. Punith N. Their contributions have significantly strengthened our chapter’s foundation over the past year.
Having had the privilege of serving this prestigious society in various capacities—as a general member, an Executive Committee member, and through two terms as Honorary Treasurer—I am deeply humbled to assume the mantle of President for the year 2026. I express my sincere gratitude to the general membership for the confidence you have reposed in me. I accept this responsibility with a profound sense of duty.
I welcome the incoming Executive Committee members; together, we pledge our total commitment to the advancement of this esteemed society.
We have formulated a strategic roadmap for the upcoming year, focusing on high-impact academic discourse and innovative surgical programmes that will serve the professional development of our members. To achieve these benchmarks, we solicit the continued guidance and active participation of our senior mentors, colleagues, and friends.
