Dear Members,

Greetings!!

WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2008.

Thank you very much for unanimously electing me as The President of our society for the year 2008 and giving me the opportunity to serve the society. I hope I will reciprocate the faith bestowed on me. I served the society in different posts as and when required and asked for and will try to continue the same. Our society is like a family and all members or executive committee should be unanimously elected or nominated which is happening for the past few years and if there is any disagreement then it should be solved or resolved amicably by discussion as it happens in family. The SSBASICC is one of the most active societies, not only in our state but in the country in organizing monthly scientific programs, annual CSEP and Surgeon’s day which is appreciated by one and all who has attended or visited our programs. This is the tradition of our society which was set and maintained by all the predecessors and I will not only try to maintain it but put all efforts to Improve on these activities.

I will try to make efforts to make monthly scientific meetings more attractive to increase the attendance. In the last few years so many new corporate and other hospitals have come up in the city but membership and attendance has not increased proportionately. I will make all the efforts to increase the membership of the society and in turn increase the attendance of our scientific meetings.
A family ‘GET TOGETHER’ is a must for our society members other than our academic activities and I will try to do the same. Date and venue will be announced subsequently.

I request all the host institutions of scientific meetings to announce the scientific programs well in advance as well as try to make a central and comfortable venue.

Like surgery – running a society or association is a team work and I need cooperation, help and guidance from one and all. As you have unanimously elected me and my team in the same manner you all will help and guide me to carry out the activities in the society successfully.

It will be my proud privilege to accept and implement the advice and suggestions given to me for improving the functioning of our society.

I will require guidance and advice from our senior members and I hope they will do the same as they have done for me in the past.

A calendar of the year 2008 is attached herewith and I request all to MARK IN YOUR DIARY THESE DATES and try to make efforts to attend all the programs.
