The Surgical Society of Bangalore A S I C C ( Regd) was established as Surgical Society of Bangalore in the year 1973 in order to have an academic forum for surgeons of Bangalore in all specialties to share their experience of interesting cases and series of patients seen in the few hospitals present those days. In 1973 the strength of the society was 20-25 members with Dr.T.S.Jairam as President and Dr. L.S.Boregowda as Hon. Secretary. It has grown from strength to strength over the years to the present size of members 650 of whom 560 are Life Members. Now it has become an institution by itself and is the largest surgical forum in the state of Karnataka. Basically it aims to disseminate surgical knowledge, promote unity and comradery amongst the members as well as guard the interest of the surgical fraternity at large.
