Scientific Session General Information
AWARD PAPERS

Mahadevan’s Award - open to all members of ASI (Maximum of 15)

Surgical Society of Mysore P.G.Award - open to all PG Students (M.S./DNB) Maximum of 15 papers
(not more than 2 from each institution)

Heads of the department of all the teaching insititutions are requested to select two papers and send
the same to the Hon Secretary of KSC - ASI with a copy to the Org. Secretary

Gulbarga Sharanabasaveshwara MCH Award - open to all MCH Candidates

Rural Surgeons Award - open to all surgeons from rural areas

Surgical society of Mysore Poster Award - open to all delegates

The duration of all award papers & free papers is 10 minutes (8 minutes for presentation & 2 minutes
for discussion)

Orations - There are three orations - H S Bhat, A.J. Narendran & M.P. Pai, The duration of oration 40
minutes (35 minutes for the oration & 5 minutes For the introduction & presentation of mementos)
Questions are not allowed during orations.

Guest lectures/CME lectures - the duration of each lecture is 30 minutes (20 minutes for the
lecture & 10 minutes for the discussion)

Symposia - the total duration 90 minutes. Each presentation not longer than 15 minutes. 30 minutes
should be kept for discussion.

Manuscripts & the abstracts may be sent online or in a floppy. Please note the last dates for submission
of abstracts. Participants in the CME / Guest Lectures should send their full text of presentation to the
Chairman of CME Committee.

Participants in the Symposia should send the full text of presentation to the respective convenor for
scrutiny. He will then send it to the Chairman of Scientific Committee for Publication in the book

Computarised time keeping will be installed & will be strictly enforced
